DB Schenker in Taiwan Celebrates 50 Years Anniversary

02.10.17

DB Schenker Taiwan was founded by Schenker Hong Kong in 1967, only one year after it started its operation in Hong Kong.

The Management of Schenker Hong Kong together with the Head Office of Schenker in Germany saw a very good potential in the developing Taiwan market.

Starting from a garage with 2 desks as a first office, Schenker Taiwan received the first air freight shipment with 25kgs in June to Hong Kong on a flight of Cathay Pacific Airlines.

The development of the organization saw the following major mile stones:

- 1973 opening of the Kaohsiung office

- 1983 opening of the Taichung office

- 1998 opening of the Tainan office

- 2001 opening of the first Logistics Center

- 2005 opening of the Hsinchu office

- 2005 the Logistics Center is expanded to 10,000 m2

- 2007 the integration of BAX Global

- 2009 obtained ISO 14001:2004 certificate for Contract Logistics operations

- 2012 obtained AEO certificate for Customs Clearance, Freight Forwarding, and Warehousing

- 2014 obtained GMP License

Today, DB Schenker Taiwan offers the full range of services for air and ocean freight import/export, customs brokerage, contract logistics (warehousing, distributions, value added services), as well as fairs & Exhibitions.
