Location

Schleswig-Holstein - At the Top of Germany and in the Center of Europe

The unique geographical position of Schleswig-Holstein between the North and the Baltic seas and its excellent traffic infrastructure means it can act as a bridge leading to the adjoining Baltic Sea states and as a business hub for trade with Scandinavia and East or West Europe.

This is reflected in the high proportion of goods from Schleswig-Holstein exported to Scandinavia and East Europe.

Schleswig-Holstein, the land between the North and Baltic seas, covers an area of 16,000 km - and has a population of approx 2,8 million. The capital is Kiel.

Schleswig-Holstein - Profile of a Superior Location

Schleswig-Holstein, the most northern of German states, has developed from being an economy dependent on agriculture and tourism to one with booming service and technology industries. Its multifarious, reliable infrastructure and its proximity to the metropolis Hamburg are the two most important factors which have helped to bring about this change.

Supported by local and statewide business promoters, Schleswig-Holstein has become a land where short and sharp unbureaucratic decisions leave a lot of room for expansion.

Numerous young, innovative and technology orientated enterprises already exist and Schleswig-Holstein is at the top of the list of German states where the most new companies are being founded. This goes to show that the economic climate in Schleswig-Holstein is positive.

Future orientated branches of industry find the right framework for expansion here. Companies operating in the fields of environmental and energy technology, medical and electro technology as well as all areas of biotechnology  produce their innovative goods for the world`s market in the north. IC technology has become an important economic factor and nowhere else in the Federal Republic are so many people online as in Schleswig-Holstein.

You too can benefit from the dynamic economic development in the  northernmost German state!
