Internship

An internship at the German Trade Office Taipei (GTO) offers you an insight into the tasks and day-to-day business of the German Delegation of Industries and Commerce in Taiwan. You will be working on current topics concerning German-Taiwanese trade, have the chance to gather in-depth knowledge about the Taiwanese economy and to gain experience in the Taiwanese business culture. The German Trade Office regularly offers two paid internship positions for three up to six months.
Among the tasks assigned to interns are:
- Conducting market research and compiling market analyses
- Supporting current projects, e. g. organizing seminars, receptions and other events
- Processing inquiries of German companies
- Preparing visits of the GTO, e. g. to Taiwanese universities, institutions and companies
- Summarizing, translating and editing of newspaper articles for the weekly newsletter
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Master program
- Major in business studies, economics, law, Chinese studies or similar fields
- Native German speaker, fluent in English; Chinese is a plus
- Proficient knowledge in MS Office (2007); Adobe Suite is a plus
- Abroad studies or work experience in Taiwan, PR China or Hong Kong is a plus

Junior Barrister
The German Trade Office Taipei regularly offers one position for a junior barrister (Rechtsreferendar) as part of the “Wahlstation” program for a period of three to four months. The focus of the junior barrister training is private, trade and corporate law. A junior barrister supports in mediation cases between German and Taiwanese companies and gives legal advice about issues concerning German or Taiwanese trade law and company foundation in Germany. Furthermore, the junior barrister takes part in the editing, translation and summarizing of newspaper articles concerning the Taiwanese economy for the weekly newsletter.
The training officer is the Executive Director of the German Trade Office Taipei Dr. Roland Wein. The German Trade Office does not offer monetary compensation for junior barristers.
Requirements:
- Currently accredited as junior barrister in Germany
- Native German speaker, fluent in English; Chinese is a plus
- Proficient knowledge in MS Office (2007)
- Abroad studies or work experience in Taiwan, PR China or Hong Kong is a plus
